Professional Image
All Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:
- Future Professionals may wear black or gray in any combination.
- Phase Two Future Professionals may wear black , gray, or white in any combination.
- A minimal print in clothing is acceptable if it is a black and white print.
- Clothing should be professional and clean.
- Shoes should be black, professional, practical, and comfortable. White trim is acceptable on shoes.
- Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
- Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
- The following is a list of acceptable dress:
- Jeans or clothing made of jean material if they are black or gray in color. Any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips, when standing up.
- Sleeveless tops (no tank tops or spaghetti strap tops)
- Sweatshirts, printed T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, cardigan and/or jackets with no logo (black and gray only)
- Stylish hats, scarves, and head wraps (black and gray only).
- Shorts and/or skirts that fall below the fingertips.
- Headphones: Only when approved by a Learning Leader in the classroom or learning zone and never when working on a guest.
- Off the shoulder is acceptable with sleeves and bra.
- Sheer and lace clothing that is kept to a minimum (must be in dress code).
- Open toed shoes must have a backing/strap.
- Fedora, flat hats or ascot caps may be worn.
- Paul Mitchell Apparel in Black, Gray or White only.
- Name tag — as provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag while in attendance.
The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Future Professionals in attendance:
- Gym workout shoes, foot thongs, beach sandals, Slides, Crocs or Uggs.
- Tank tops, spaghetti string tops, tube tops, or belly shirts.
- No midriff or crop tops (State Board Requirements - Torso Covered)
- No back cut outs below the bra
- Sweatpants.
- Shorts and/or skirts that fall above fingertips, when standing up.
- Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, or beanies.
- Headphones, headgear, and/or earphones are not permitted in the classroom or the clinic classroom.
- Sunglasses.
Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
